Purbeck Community Rail Partnership (PCRP) is seeking to appoint a motivated and competent person for this interesting, challenging and exciting role.

The PCRP is an alliance between train operators, infrastructure owners, and local Councils. We are very close now to seeing the introduction of a community railway service between Swanage and Wareham, operated by Swanage Railway. However, the Partnership is about more than just the new service - it is about connecting the community and stakeholders to its railways, including the Waterloo to Weymouth mainline running through stations at Holton Heath, Wareham, Wool and Moreton, by helping to enhance station environments and facilities, and generally promoting the benefits of public transport and active travel in a sustainable and integrated way, including to under-represented groups.

The CRPO will perform an active role in drawing up and delivering projects and plans agreed by the Partnership. We require a self-motivated person with excellent project management and communication skills, together with previous experience of bid-writing and community engagement, and a flexible approach.

In return we offer a flexible working environment, a travel pass on both Swanage Railway and South Western Railway train services when on duty, a small but dedicated team atmosphere and a holiday allowance.

Although the post is to be home-based, you will be required to attend at stations and other railway properties on a regular basis, as required. We are happy to discuss flexible working hours.

Application is by completed application form only. Application forms and further details are available from Mrs Lorna Lock at Swanage Railway, email [email protected] or in writing to: Recruitment, Swanage Railway, Station House, Swanage, BH19 1HB.

Closing Date for applications is: 12 Noon on Friday 30th October 2020. First Interviews will be held on Thursday 19th November via Microsoft Teams. Second interviews will be held face-to-face at Westport House, Wareham.
