Dorset Council - VCS Survey - Community Action Network and Help & Kindness

Dorset Council currently commission two organisations to provide infrastructure services to the voluntary and community sector across the Dorset Council area.

They commission Community Action Network (CAN) to offer training, support and development.

These services are available free of charge and for organisations who choose to become a member of CAN (free membership) there is a wide range of online resources including model policies and procedures, along with a wide range of training and networking opportunities.

They commission Help & Kindness to promote networking, communications and sector representation for voluntary and community groups.

Help and Kindness hold a wide range of sector information on their website and convene groups with a common interest to work together, sharing information and ideas. They also share insights and concerns from the VCS with statutory partners.

The contract for these two organisations runs out on the 31st July 2024 and Dorset Council are seeking views and insight from voluntary and community sector organisations on your experiences of these two organisations.

They will be developing the specification for the renewed infrastructure support service over the next few months and will take into consideration the information provided and comments in this survey.
