Working with Trustees - Roles, Responsibilities & Recruiting
One of the strengths of the voluntary, charity & social enterprise sector is that the organisation is led by, and staff are managed by, trustees and directors who are volunteers. However, this is a very different relationship than what happens in a business or public sector context.
What will you get out of this session?
• A clear idea of the legal requirements laid on trustees of charities and directors of social enterprises
• An understanding of the planning hierarchy and who is responsible for which part
• Information on how senior staff report in to the board and the level and frequency of information submitted.
• A blueprint for how trustees are recruited and how staff are involved in this (depending on the kind of organisation)
• Practical tips on managing supervisory relationships; for instance Chair and CEO
Who should attend?
Staff, trustee & directors of charities or social enterprises
