The Role of Charity Chair

Chairing a trustee board for a charity is a very valuable role which is key to steering the ship towards the future. However, if you're new to it, or if you have hit choppy waters, then this course looks at the role, how it works and how to deal with some common problems.

By the end of the session you will:

  • Have confidence that you understand what is expected of the role
  • Know where to find the Charity Commission guidance on issues - and other support
  • Have an appreciation of how you can apply your skills, knowledge and experience to the challenges of being a Chair
  • Appreciate the value of the Charity Governance Code as a resource for trustee development (Our course Good Governance covers the Charity Governance Code in more detail)

Who should attend?

The course is suitable for prospective or current Chairs of charities of all types.
