Safeguarding Leads for Community Spaces

This session will help you to build confidence and gain a deeper understanding of the steps you need to take. You and your trustee board will know that everyone is safe. What you will get out of it:

- A clear view of what the role entails in the context of running a community space
- Suggestions and tips for how to perform the role
- A clear plan for how to be successful in the role

Whether you are an experienced lead in another context or whether you are new in the role, this session will break things down in a way that helps you see what the role is about.

The session will include:

- A recap on what abuse is and who may be vulnerable to abuse,
- Taking further action and following your policy document (you should familiarise yourself with this prior to the course)
- Creating a safeguarding "culture" within your organisation
- Ensuring that everyone is aware of what to do to raise a concern and training
- Managing safeguarding incidents and supporting colleagues
- Keeping safeguarding procedures effective and up-to-date.

This course comes with free templates and information sheets which you can download having signed up for the course.
