Footprints Project - Volunteer Mentors Needed
You are out and about and you have lost your bag. It had your phone, your diary, bank cards, your house keys in it. Suddenly you are alone. No shelter. No money. No food. No one to help you. What would you do?
This is the situation facing the people we support who are released from prison, except they also have additional worries. No family or friends, no skills or employment and they often suffer from past trauma, mental health or addiction.
A friendly face meets you and takes you for a coffee, helps you set up benefits and a bank account, register with a GP, find emergency clothing, food and shelter and most importantly gives up a few hours a week to listen to you, non-judgementally, and help you develop long term coping strategies and goals. This is the difference our mentors make.
We are an awarding winning local charity covering Dorset and Hampshire and we are now looking for additional volunteers to join our team in all areas of Dorset
