Trustee Treasurer: Citizens Advice Central Dorset (CACD)

YOU WILL:

Help develop our strategic business plan to keep the organisation current and adaptable to meet the changing and varied needs of our clients

Monitor the financial affairs of the organisation which are processed by the operations team

Have an accounting qualification and or experience

Bring lots of enthusiasm, ideas and energy to help drive the organisations motivation to offer the best possible service we can

Our current Treasurer says ‘I’ve really enjoyed my decade of as Treasurer of CA North Dorset and, post-merger, as Treasurer of CACD. Getting to know our volunteers and the fantastic work they do has been inspirational. The Treasurer role is supported by a highly competent Finance Manager so it is not ‘hands on’ and you will work equally closely with our excellent Chief Officer. If you are looking for a worthwhile violuntary role with a well-run and sustainable local charity, this is the job for you !’

WHAT WOULD WE LIKE FROM YOU?

Preparation for and participation in four annual Board meetings (1.5 days total)

Involvement in the preparation of budgets for strategic planning and contract requirements (2-3 hours per month)

Monitoring day to day operational financial management (0.5 days per month)

A BIT ABOUT CITIZENS ADVICE

In Dorset CACD in 2021 we helped clients find a solution to a problem related to one or several of the following: Benefits, employment, energy costs, debt, gambling, housing and social issues, MS, living with cancer, and mental health.

We provide free independent advice to people throughout Dorset and are a locally managed business within the highly regarded National Citizens Advice Network. Though it is not widely understood, we are an independent charity who are professionally run but very much volunteer led.

Citizens Advice prides itself in providing end to end highly professional advice and is an organisation with a reputation we are all proud to be part of.
