During May 2025, we asked the VCS "How can Dorset Council work better with Dorset’s Voluntary & Community Sector?"

As promised, here is a round-up of responses. Over the last month we have shared these with the Executive team at Dorset Council, and the report includes their initial response to the VCS. We will continue working with them to secure some quick wins, and also to advocate for the sector for the larger systemic change you have asked for.   

We hope that you find this an interesting read, but we also know that none of it will be 'new news'. There are common themes and threads, and yes, some long-standing issues.

This is only the beginning of this 'transformation journey' and we ask that you continue to engage, share your views, and help form a better working framework for communities and partnerships.
