Sherborne & Yeovil Link Chernobyl Children's Lifeline

Share

30th September 2021

The Sherborne & Yeovil Link Chernobyl Children's Lifeline normally bring up to 12 children from either Belarus or Ukraine to the Sherborne area

each year to improve their health and immune systems.

Sadly these visits were not possible last year or this year due to Coronavirus. Instead they are fundraising to support a single parent family with 5 school age children in Belarus. The youngest, a 4 year old girl and one of a twin, has a rare cancer behind her eye. They are paying for her weekly transport with volunteer drivers to hospital for chemotherapy, have provided one delivery of high quality nutritious food and bought a wood burning stove to keep the home warm.

All this money has been raised from kind donations and fundraising.

Fundraising, due to the pandemic, has been difficult, but they are holding a craft day on 30th October which they hope will attract attention and enable us to continue funding help to this child. The details of this craft day are on the poster below
