27th April 2021

Volunteer Centre Dorset are delighted to be able to offer free Level 2 Food Hygiene courses to local community food schemes.

The course is done online through a company called Virtual College and takes about 1-2 hours to complete.

The completion of this course is a requirement for several food schemes, and we hope that this offer will be taken up by local groups so they can operate safely.

The course content includes:

  • An introduction to food safety and hygiene
  • The impact of food-borne illnesses
  • Understanding food law
  • Food safety hazards and contamination
  • Food preservation, storage and temperature control
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Hygienic premises and equipment
  • HACCP

The course is fun and interactive, and is accredited by City & Guilds. The course can be completed in your own time to fit around your schedule. A computer is required to complete this course.

To enquire and book your place(s) please contact Issy McGowan at the Volunteer Centre on [email protected] or phone the office on 01305 269214.
