Managing the Money for Trustees

The Charity Commission lays on trustees of charities the responsibility to manage the assets of their charity responsibly and transparently. But what does that mean for the day-to-day running of small- to medium-sized organisations?

After this session you will:

- Have a clear idea of what is expected of you as a trustee, and as a member of a committee, in terms of financial management and be familiar with guidance such as Managing charity finances - GOV.UK

- Feel confident that you can ask for an understand the financial information you need to make robust decisions.

- Know how to deal with several common problems - or head them off before they begin - including balancing expenditure and bringing in sufficient income.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for new trustees, trustees of an organisation that is growing fast or anyone needing a refresher. It follows on from the Trustee Roles and Responsibilities course and goes into more detail on the finance side.
