I Need Support
We recognise that this is a difficult time for a lot of people, and we are here for you if you need support. We may be able to match you up with a volunteer to help you with shopping, collecting prescriptions, or just have a friendly chat on the phone. There is no criteria you must reach in order to recieve help from us so please do get in touch if you are struggling in any way.
To contact the Volunteer Centre please phone 01305 269214 - please note that our phone line is open 10:00-17:00 Monday to Friday, but if you leave a message we will be able to get back to you outside these times.
Dorset Council have also set up a helpline for all Covid-19 related issues. Please phone 01305 221000, 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. You can also email them on [email protected].
If you feel unwell and need medical advice or care, please contact your GP or phone 111. If you are seriously unwell or are seriously concerned about the health of an individual, phone 999 and ask for an ambulance.
If you need help with finances, benefits or are out of work due to the Coronavirus crisis then please contact Citizens Advice Bureau on 0344 411 1444. To view more information and contact details for CAB, click here.
The shielding scheme is coming to an end on 31st July - but we will continue to support you in any way. We can support you with shopping, prescription collecting, dog walking and more. Please phone us at the Volunteer Centre on 01305 269214 and we can match you with a volunteer.
Support with Computers and getting online
If you or someone you know is struggling with using a computer or getting online, then the Dorset Digital Hotline can help. Anyone can call the Dorset Digital Hotline with an IT question on 01305 221000 (select option 2) weekdays (excluding Bank Holidays) from 10am to 12noon. You can leave a message with your name and number outside of these times and we will call you back.

If you aren't sure who the best person to speak to is, please contact Dorset Council on 01305 221000. They will be able to refer you on to the best service for your situation if they are unable to help you.
If in doubt - always phone someone for help, there are no requests too small and if the service you call can't help, they will know someone who can.
