Volunteer Help Scheme
The Volunteer Help Scheme assists the elderly and disabled with basic gardening needs such as hedge trimming, grass cutting and pruning.
It was founded some years ago and is very rewarding for all parties involved. Petrol and out of pocket expenses are paid for, training is also provided including health and safety, first aid at work and equipment specific courses.
We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the scheme. This would involve driving a van and being able to reliably commit for one day a week.
As part of a small team, you would provide support and guidance for the other two team members. The team visits gardens around the surrounding area three times a week but the driver can choose which day is convenient.
If you are interested please get in contact with us at the Centre. All Volunteers are welcome but drivers must be at least 25 years old.
