As part of Volunteerings support of the 2012 games The Volunteer Centre Dorset is looking to train ‘Event Stewards’ and are therefore providing free training for up to 50 volunteers.
The next course will take place at Upton House in Poole (see venue details below) on Wednesday 27th January and Wednesday 3rd February. This will now be initially a 2 day course covering spectator safety and event stewarding called 'Introductory Certificate in Event Stewarding' with a third and final day allowing you to complete the full NVQ Level 2 Spectator Safety Qualification which will include Emergency First Aid will take place in early 2010, dates TBC.
Candidates that wish to go on to the full NVQ Level 2 will be required to complete several practical stewarding sessions followed by three further events at which they will be assessed at for the final part of the qualification. As with the final day of the course these will take place later in the year/early 2010. Once again events/venues and timings will be confirmed.
