Big Green Events - Two Projects arriving close to Dorchester

Two Big Green Events are being organised to give young people the chance to have some fun while finding out about exciting green projects happening in their area.

The first is at Durweston Village Hall:

This begins on the 31st January from 7pm to 9pm.  The event is hosted by Durweston Youth Club.

Fun activities include

  • 'Tip of the Pops'
  • A solar-powered wheelbarrow disco made from scrap
  • A bicycle electricity generator to test your stamina - can you peddle hard enough to light up the display?

There will also be other green technical gizmos and products made from local woodland.

The second event is at Charlton Down village hall:

Starting on the 5th February, from 6.30-8pm, organised by Dorset Youth association.

The 'Tip of the Pops' wheelbarrow disco and the generator bicycle will be here too, as well as other displays.  Also on hand will be members of the team from Dorchester Community Farm - including a couple of ducks! - to tell you about how you can get involved, get muddy, and grow some great food!

Both events are being organised in partnership with Dorset Agenda21, Dorset Youth Association and Volunteer Centre Dorset.

See the flyer.
