All ROUGH SLEEPERS in Christchurch have been offered accommodation.
During this very cold spell, we are immensely grateful to all the good people at the Christchurch Council Housing and Julian House who have done so much to ensure that accommodation is available for rough sleepers under the Severe Weather Emergency Protocol (SWEP). Accommodation in hotels and hostels has been offered to all known rough sleepers. Some have taken advantage of this offer, others have declined.
Hot evening meals are provided by the wonderful Triple F team at 23 Barrack Road each evening except Friday and Sunday.
Christchurch Community partnership are distributing Meal Cards to enable the rough sleepers to have hot meals in the daytime at Cuckoos, Kelly's Kitchen, Bailey's Cafe and Horizon's Cafe at the Bridge (on Wednesdays).
Please help us by going to our website christchurchcommunitypartnership.org.uk, press the My Donate link and mention Mealcards to make a contribution online or pop into the Information Centre to pay for cards at £3 each. Give them back and they make sure we get them. We get them out very quickly. Please help us to help others.
Please do not give money or cards to beggars on the street. They are not necessarily homeless and can make a lucrative living through people's kindness.
Please check your elderly neighbours and make sure they have heating and sufficient food.
Neighbour Cars (temporary number 01202 474534) can provide transport for medical appointments to save them going on the bus - and standing around in the cold!
Montana's Online Store takes telephone orders 01425 619883 and is used by many of our clients. They provide next day deliveries Monday to Friday in the local area. There is no delivery charge but they ask for a minimum £10 spend. They are happy to deliver their catalogues each day.
